with Texas Public Service Training Academy.

EMT TrainingClassroom Lecture | 128 hours
Clinical Training | 60 hours (36 Ambulance/24 ER)

Course Requirements

  • GED or HS diploma
  • Must maintain a 70% average in class
  • Access to an internet accessible device
  • Complete 5 ambulance charts and 5 ER charts
  • An ability to lift, carry, and balance 125 pounds
  • Pass the Final written exam and NREMT required skills exam (skills sheets)

Patient Care Requirements

  • Hep B series
  • MMR immunization
  • TDap (within the last 5 years)
  • TB test (within the last 6 months)
  • Texas DPS Criminal History Report

  • 2 pairs of 5.11 tactical pants (or similar) - Black or navy blue (sold on amazon for $59.99 a pair)

  • Watch with a second hand

National Exam Fee (NREMT) | $80.00

Department of State Health Services Certification Application | (DSHS)- $64

  • To be submitted after you have passed your national exam

Texas DPS Criminal History Report

  • To be obtained within the last three months
